Gernot Oberfell

Gernot Oberfell was born in 1975 in Germany. He has studied industrial design at Künste Stuttgart State Academy of Art, and during this period Oberfell was a visiting student at Glasgow School of Art for 1 year. In 2004, he interned at Renz Heller’s Graphic Design Office, Fraunhofer Institute IPA Stuttgart Vaihingen and Architectural Model designer Uwe Brodner.

After graduation, he started working as a design project manager at Oberfell Lovegrove StudioX. Oberfell became the founding partner of the Wertel Oberfell Platform in London in 2006, which works in a wide range from furniture to lighting, from industrial product design to experimental research.

He opened second studio of Wertel Oberfell in Munich in 2010.
